With so many brands and types of paint to choose from, which is the best to use?

There are so many options of paint to choose from and just as many opinions out there to listen to. So, we thought we would give you one more. We have a bit more credit, we feel, than say taking advise from your sister or next door neighbor. We use paint everyday and we don’t use the same products out there all the time.

We use different products from differnt brands all the time. We have quite a bit of experience seeing what paint we like and what paint we don’t like. So here are a few of the main ones we like to use.

Painting Walls.

95% of the time when using a light to a medium color we will use the Super 2 Eggshell from Cloverdale Paints. This product can be used when painting your home, your office or storefront. We have used on places such as the workplaces we have worked on and high-end Estate Homes.

Dark Walls.

If at any time we are painting a dark color on walls, we will use one product and one product only. Benjamin Moore Regel Ulti-Matte. It is a great paint for durability and for the amazing looking finish, it is a very low sheen. What we have found with other paints is that when you add in a good amount of tint to be able to get a dark color, your paint finish will turn very shiny. With the Regal Ulti-Matte, the paint keeps the low sheen which will make the walls look fantastic.

Painting Trim and Doors.

For painting baseboards, window trim, door frames and doors, we will use Cloverdale’s Renaissance. It has a great leveling effect to it which means it allows itself to slowly dry to allow it to flatten out and create a smooth finish. Great product when needing to spray or brush and roll. You do need to be careful as because of this feature, you can run into what we call runs or drips. Professional painters will have no issue using the products.
